Reporting to the General Counsel of our Telecommunications Sector you will work play an integral part in the delivery of legal services to the Ventia business.

This position is a full-time permanent opportunity with flexible working spending time in the office and work from home. Options to base out of our beautiful Brisbane or North Sydney offices.

What you’ll be doing:

• Tender reviews, contract reviews, identification of legal risks, development of mitigation strategies in partnership with operational and commercial teams, preparing drafting solutions and presenting to executive stakeholders for approval.
• Operational support, including subcontract drafting, development of contract administration resources, and providing general contract interpretation advice.
• Dispute resolution and avoidance, including the formulation and implementation of strategies for debt recovery.
• Delivery of training to operational and commercial personnel and working with the broader Ventia legal team to develop and implement process improvements and smarter ways of working with technology.

About you:

• A current Australian practising certificate with 3 to 6 years PQE as a solicitor in corporate legal practice and/or in-house legal team.
• Well-developed knowledge of commercial and contract law.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• A proactive, confident approach, who is happy to work as part of a team as well as autonomously.
