The Role
Ventia is a leading maintenance service provider supporting the Australian Defence Force. Ventia are currently seeking experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanics. Expand your expertise on unique vehicles and equipment and collaborate with leading professionals across a range of disciplines. This job is based in state-of-the-art facilities with the latest equipment, and you will work across a range of heavy military vehicles, including 4WD's, armoured tanks, trucks, tracked vehicles and infantry personnel carriers.
This role will see the successful candidates based at the RAAF Base Edinburgh as part of the Defence Maintenance and Support Services contract. This is a permanent full-time role.

- Base rate of $36.08 per hour plus an additional allowance of $669.94 per fortnight. (Approx $44.90 per hour including the allowance)

The responsibilities of the position include:
- Maintenance tasks including inspection, classification, diagnostics and repairs on Light, Medium and Heavy Vehicles and Plant Equipment.
- Completing service tasks on equipment during routine maintenance.
- Replace or repair damaged and malfunctioning parts following inspections and effectively diagnose problems and perform work of a technical nature on a wide range of vehicles.
- You will adhere to all regulatory and contract specific requirements.
Skills and experience:
- Be a trade qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic at Cert III (AUR31116) or equivalent level. (Required)
- Demonstrated ability and practical experience to inspect, repair and maintain Light, Medium and/or Heavy vehicle to a medium level of repair.
- Must possess a current Australian State or Territory class C Driver's Licence.
Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance up to the level of Negative Vetting Level 1.
As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen.
