About the Role

Based in the Illawarra, and working within our longstanding BlueScope Plant Maintenance Contract, an opportunity exists for an experienced Boilermaker to join our Coal and Coke Handling Team within Coke Making.

In this role, and as an integral team member, you will perform maintenance work on emergent service requests; whilst achieving safety, quality, critical equipment uptime and operational efficiency objectives.

This is a dynamic work team whose focus is on ‘high priority’ maintenance tasks. As such, the priority is largely driven by equipment outages, and/or production, whereby the maintenance request often requires the job closed out and the equipment returned back to service within 3-7 days. Coincidently, the nature of the work means it provides the opportunity for you to draw upon your trouble shooting and problem-solving skill set on a regular basis.

To be successful in this role, the following qualification, licences, skills and experience are required:

  • Demonstrated commitment to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards
  • Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade Qualification
  • Relevant heavy industry experience
  • OHS General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • NSW Drivers Licence
  • The ability to develop and maintain good working relationships
  • Proactive nature to support your team
  • Flexibility to work in a multi-skilled team with the ability to work independently
  • Pride in your standard of work with a passion for identifying and implementing improvement opportunities
  • Results driven coupled with a strong customer focus
  • An effective communicator, both face to face and in writing
