As part of their ongoing LNG Maintenance Contract at Barrow Island, Ventia are currently seeking a HSE Specialist to support a Shutdown for approximately 4 weeks commencing ASAP.
This casual short-term position is a rewarding opportunity for a talented individual to partner with operational personnel and the integrated site HSE Team within the maintenance area, providing leadership, advice and support for compliance and operational excellence in health, safety, and environmental matters.

- Competitive rate - $100 casual flat rate per hour (all inclusive)

What you will be doing
- Partner the delivery of HSE performance targets and objectives in the HSE Management Plan.
- Provide technical content for the development of HSE system documents.
- Promote an organisational & HSE culture, where incidents and hazards are reported and where investigations involve line management to identify and correct the root causes.
- Site inspections and interactions with work groups across all scopes of work, using associated inspection tools to document findings.
- Provide support and fulfill a key role in Turnaround scopes of work as required during execution phase.
- Provide advice and assistance to support Managers to ensure the effective implementation of the Operating Excellence HSE systems.
- Conduct training in HSE as required and onboarding of new personnel to site.
About you
- Must have expereince in the Oil & Gas Industry
- Diploma or Cert IV in WHS or significant exposure to HSE and its effective implementation.
- A minimum of 3 years relevant experience within an operating Major Hazard Facility (MHF) either within a maintenance or turnaround role.
- Competent in applying a method of investigation (Taproot, ICAM).
- Valid Driver’s Licence ‘C’ Class.
- A medium level of computer literacy.
- Relevant qualifications and certifications in WHS related activities.
- Construction industry induction (White card).
