The role of a Care & Custody Officer involves providing a safe and secure environment for detainees in custody, ensuring their welfare needs are met, and always maintaining a professional and respectful approach. You will be responsible for supervising People in Custody, escorting them to appointments or court appearances, and maintaining accurate records.
This role requires you to:
- Deliver a safe transport and supervision of detainees during critical activities.
- Participate in court activities for security requirements.
- Manage conflict and communicate with empathy.
- Display a fair and openminded approach to detainees in custody.
- Provide safety and security for Persons in Custody, staff, employees, and members of the public.
- Perform walking and mobile patrols of a designated area.

- Training Rate $27.35 – Base Rate Post Training $29.50
What you need
- Availability to train from July 24th, 2023, full time for 6 weeks in Perth (we fund)
- Commitment to a minimum of 12 months to obtain qualifications.
- Australian Citizen or permanent resident essential and is a requirement to fulfil several associated pre-employment checks.
- Manual Driving Licence - (ADVANTAGEOUS - HR, MR licence or F Extension category highly desirable for operating vehicles carrying passengers)
- Be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical including a drug & alcohol test.
