About the role
The Finance Manager will support and partner with the Project Director by providing high level information to drive operational management, though, reporting and analysis, completion of month end functions, forecasting, cost reporting and process improvement for the project portfolio.
The Finance Manager will report to the Senior Finance Manager, and themselves have day to day management of a small finance team and work collaboratively with team Commercial team and other stakeholders.
The role location is hybrid, based at the Staplyton office, with the flexibility to balance office presence with working from home.
Key responsibilities
- Timely completion of month end process including cost & revenue allocation
- Responsible for all financial processes and transactional data, ensuring accurate and timely completion
- Prepare budgeting and forecasting requirements, inclusive of P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash flow
- Prepare management financial reports with insight into operational drivers
- Maintain detailed knowledge of financial aspects of contracts & sub-contracts within the portfolio, including application of various commercial arrangements and models
- Submit customer invoices in line with contract terms with a focus on efficient billing practices
- Drive business & process improvement
- Proactively manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Mentor and guide the finance team

About you
- Hold a degree in accounting, commence or related discipline with a CA or CPA
- Have intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel experience
- Prior experience working with SAP or similar ERP
- Experienced in cost reporting and process improvement
- The Ability to manage, maintain, manipulate and analyse complex and large data sets
- Demonstrated experience in managing a team and demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team
- The flexibly and adaptively to work in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders
- Experience in the transport or construction industry highly regarded
