Ventia have an exciting opportunity for a SHEQ Advisor to support the operational division of the Telecommunications team, supporting a portfolio of construction contracts.
Our Telecommunications team is currently engaged in completing operations with clients such as Telstra, Optus, NBN, TPG and Defence.
This is a permanent full-time position based in Perth, with the option of working from either the Canning Vale or Belmont office, as well as the added flexibility to work from home.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Facilitate the implementation of the H&S management plan, policies, and project procedures.
- Develop and implement the digital infield Safe Work Management System, Novus.
- Undertake significant on-site assurance activities across multiple scopes of work.
- Conduct incident investigations including PEEPO and ICAM in consultation with operations.
- Participate in auditing processes to monitor effectiveness of risk controls.
- Demonstrate through own actions and behaviour a total commitment to Ventia SHEQ requirements.
- Actively promote the integration of Ventia H&S Culture.
- Ensure actions from inspections, audits, incident investigations, staff meetings and workforce meetings are captured and followed through until closed out.
- Participate in site planning meetings and actively promote Ventia risk management strategies and processes.
Experiences & Qualifications
- Formal qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety
- Cert IV in Training and Assessing preferred but not essential.
- Detailed knowledge of regulatory guidelines governing Work Health and Safety within a heavy industry, services, or construction environment
- Demonstrated exposure to multi-disciplined construction projects
- 2-3 years’ experience in a safety / environment or relevant industry role
- Experience within Telecommunications desirable
