Our Transport Maintenance and Construction team in Auckland has an opportunity for a talented and ambitious civil construction professional to lead our resurfacing projects team.

This role would potentially suit a senior project engineer or a junior project manager with a good understanding of contract management, with a focus on pavement design and construction.

The Role

Your focus will be in supporting the Renewals Manager in the delivery of the Renewals program. In particular the timely delivery of the resurfacing program, including but not limited to investigation, design, design reports, costing, and managing the delivery as per the annual program approved by Auckland Transport.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• 3rd level qualifications in a relevant field (Civil Engineering preferred)
• Demonstrated experience in AC paving and chip sealing.
• Proven ability to build a culture of success and drive project performance to meet deadlines and contractual requirements
• Demonstrated ability to interpret, evaluate and analyse plans, diagrams and sketches
• Excellent operations management and people leadership skills particularly the ability to mentor and coach your direct reports and project team members.
• A strong understanding of health and safety risks and compliance requirements in the civil construction environment
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
• Strong commercial acumen, a track record of delivering projects on or under budget, and the ability to manage commercial relationships with suppliers, consultants and subcontractors.
• Strong planning skills and experience in running and delivering a programme of works.
