About the Role:
The Cyber Security Engineer supports Ventia cyber defence by planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the protection of the Ventia’s data, systems, and networks to defend and mitigate threats. Ventia head office is in North Sydney, other offices can be considered for this role.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop, build, maintain and test security systems and monitor their effectiveness

Ensuring data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls

Introduce upgrades and replacements

Appropriately respond to security breaches and investigate

Report to potential threats, proposed improvements and ongoing security issues

Troubleshooting security and network problems.

Identifying and testing and vulnerabilities in hardware, software, and applications
Key Experiences & Skill:
-
Demonstrated experience in managing and maintaining security tools
-
Skilled in understanding and adopting relevant cyber security industry trends
-
Programming skills in languages like Python, PowerShell or Bash for automation of tasks and analysing security data

Skilled in digital security solution design while proactively anticipating risk
-
Great team player.
