About the role

As the Engineering and Development Manager you are responsible for the management of medium and large-scale tenders within our Energy Networks and Renewables (ENR) Ventia Northern business.

These responsibilities include developing tender strategy, coordinating and driving tender developments, presenting large tenders for senior management and board approval, tender submissions, negotiating contracts and conducting project handovers for projects won.

This role is ideally suited to someone with an Electrical Engineering background who has experience in the electrical infrastructure industry in either distribution, transmission or generation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing winning tenders and proposals, plans and strategies that differentiate Ventia’s offerings in a competitive bidding market.
  • Planning, coordinating, and overseeing the technical and engineering activities of the Ventia Energy Networks and Renewables (ENR) Northern business.
  • Maintain visible, timely and accurate reporting on the status, issues, and performance of the tenders.
  • Manage the successful development of collaboration across multiple offices, business lines, clients and sectors.
  • Identify areas for technical and operational enhancement and formulate strategies for implementation.
  • Cultivate your team culture of estimators for continuous learning and innovation.

Key Skills & Attributes Include

  • Demonstrated experience within renewables and electrical infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven track record in forming and leading teams; collaborative and inclusive working methods and ability to quickly assess management requirements and address issues.
  • Ability to handle pressure, meet tight deadlines, and maintain a high attention to detail.
