As part of our on-going contract with the Department of Correctional Services, we are currently recruiting for Care & Custody Officers to join our South Australia Prisoner Movement and In Court Management (SAPMICM) team in Adelaide and Port Augusta.
The role of a Care & Custody Officer involves providing a safe and secure environment for people in custody. Duties include transport of people in custody, care of people in custody whilst in hospital and court management for people in court custody.

- 5 weeks full paid training to set you up for success
- Training rate approximately $32.40 (increases to $40.40 once qualified)
This role requires you to:
- Deliver a safe transport and supervision of detainees during critical activities
- Participate in court activities for security requirements
- Manage conflict and communicate with empathy
- Display a fair and openminded approach to people in custody
- Provide safety and security for Persons in Custody, staff, employees, and members of the public
- Supervising people in Custody, escorting them to appointments or court appearances, and maintaining accurate records
What you need:
- Availability to train full time for 5 weeks in Adelaide early January
- Commitment to a minimum of 12 months to obtain Certificate III in Correctional Practices
- Must have unlimited working rights in Australia
- Be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical including a drug & alcohol test and obtain \
- Working with Children and National Police Clearances
- Opportunity to travel to regional areas
