Ventia is hiring a qualified Electrician/Telepower Technician based in Canberra, ACT to support critical telecommunications infrastructure. This role combines electrical expertise with telecommunication support, ensuring reliable power backup systems for essential services.

What you’ll do:
- Maintain and service Emergency power plant (AC 240 Volts) and battery backup telepower systems (LV DC 54 volts) for telecommunications equipment.
- Perform general electrical maintenance, including but not limited on switchboards, generators and telepower systems.
- Carry out preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance, including callouts when required. Report on and fix faults with detailed scope using various systems.
- Ensure safe work practices are followed, compliance to the standards adhered to and maintain a clean work environment.
- Conduct Audits on various assets
What we’re looking for:
- Qualified Electrician.
- White card.
- Experience with generators and standard DC power systems.
- Telecommunications experience preferred, however full training will be provided for telepower systems if lacking.
- Ability to work autonomously and respond to call-outs where possible.
- Must be willing to work away from home at times for short periods in remote areas.
- Ability to work with different IT systems and software.
