Bid Writer – Shape How Ventia Wins Work Across ANZ Transport

Salary up to $160k package (incl. super), negotiable depending on experience

Flexible work options | Career growth | Small, supportive team environment

Ventia is seeking a skilled and strategic Bid Writer to join our growing Strategy & Growth team within the ANZ Transport business. This is a newly created position driven by increased workload and a key gap identified within our close‑knit team — the perfect opportunity for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact from day one.

If you’re driven by crafting compelling narratives, collaborating with subject matter experts, and influencing major infrastructure wins, you’ll thrive here. We value people who understand the give‑and‑take of a small team, can pitch in with extra hours when required (with time off provided in return), and who are happy to travel interstate when needed.

Why Join Ventia?

  • Up to $160k package (incl. super) negotiable based on experience
  • Work from any state in Australia – full flexibility
  • Become part of a tight, collaborative team where your contribution is valued
  • WFH options once fully trained
  • Shape major bids that support essential transport services
  • Ownership, autonomy and interesting, varied work
  • Long term career development pathways
  • Access to our employee benefits program, including discounts, wellbeing offers and more

What You’ll Be Doing

  • As a Ventia Bid Writer, you’ll play a key role in winning new work by producing persuasive, client focused content. Your day to day will include:
  • Crafting high quality bid responses with clear messaging and win themes
  • Collaborating with SMEs to develop content that aligns with client needs
  • Developing case studies, CVs and targeted bid content
  • Editing and refining documents under tight timeframes
  • Ensuring consistency and strategic alignment across all written material
  • Facilitating peer reviews and contributing to continuous improvement of bid processes
  • Supporting our bid library and content development initiatives
  • Tracking deliverables to meet submission deadlines

About You

  • You’re a confident communicator who enjoys shaping strategy through writing. You bring:
  • Previous experience writing complex bids
  • Strong professional writing and editing skills (qualifications in writing, editing, journalism, or marketing highly regarded)
  • Ability to draw out win themes and understand client drivers
  • Advanced MS Word formatting skills (styles, templates, formatting fixes)
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Experience in transport or infrastructure environments (asset management, construction, operations, maintenance)
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, deadline driven team

Highly Regarded

  • Bid methodology training (e.g., Shipley, Miller Heiman)
  • APMP Foundation certification
  • InDesign or graphic design capability
  • Experience in strategic bid/content development
