A full-time opportunity is available for a Trade Repair Officer to join our Defence Maintenance Team in Holtze, NT. This role plays a key part in maintaining the reliability and readiness of Defence assets.
The position suits a trade-qualified professional who can work autonomously, communicate effectively, and operate confidently under the direction of Ventia Management and prime Defence contacts. The successful candidate who meets most of the role’s requirements will be supported with training to strengthen their skills and experience.

Key responsibilities
- Plan and manage maintenance activities with local providers
- Order and manage parts using Defence-mandated IT systems and processes
- Conduct handover activities and carry out associated receipt/issues processes
- Organise on-site repairs through local maintenance contractors, and conduct minor technical repairs within scope of trade qualification
- Manage off-site maintenance activities through the reviewal of quotes, purchase orders management and invoicing, Quality Assurance (QA) inspections within scope of trade qualification
- Liaise positively with key Defence equipment and facility stakeholders
Skills, experience & qualifications
- Australian citizenship required, with eligibility to obtain a Defence Security Clearance
- Recognised Trade Certificate IV in any of the following: Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Engineering - Mechanical (Fitter), Electrical or equivalent)
- 5–10 years’ experience in the relevant trade.
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance management, technical inspections, and quality audits
- Relevant experience within a military or Defence maintenance environment (including SAP) – desirable, not essential
- Minimum C‑class driver’s licence required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within diverse teams
- Ability to work autonomously with strong attention to detail
