Scope of Role
The purpose of the role is to help Viva Energy deliver its integrated supply chain projects for transportation fuels and associated infrastructure. The role is responsible for originating supply chain improvement projects and representing Viva Energy at our unincorporated Aviation fuel supply joint ventures (JV). This will require expertise in supply chain economics, capital planning and maintenance of assurance processes.
The Supply business is arranged into Operations, Technical and Commercial teams. The team’s commercial team accountability includes all of Viva’s supply and non-customer commercial arrangements.
Within the business, the Supply Commercial team plays a central role in delivering and improving cost of goods supplied, supply of revenue streams and supply costs. The department also maximises bottom line value through commercial integration of Viva Energy’s activities.
The key activities of the role include:
- Development and negotiation of commercial opportunities with other industry counterparties, providers and customers
- Represent Viva Energy's interests within the applicable Joint Ventures, and ensure Viva Energy maintains strong relationships with its key airport stakeholders
- Provide negotiation support to the Aviation Joint Venture Lead to deliver significant increase in value through asset management and business development opportunities
- Develop capital projects and proposals, and provide a bridge between the Supply business and other commercial and internal support functions such as Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics etc. to ensure these are delivered on time and within budget
- Deliver long-term value through business development activities, including capital project support, master planning and assessment of new airport market entries
- Support others in Supply and Trading department with contract strategy development and negotiations
- Drive better alignment between the Supply Chain function and Commercial businesses via the establishment and coordination of internal cross business teams and mutual accountability for project delivery
- Challenge existing or embedded processes and views around commercial opportunity delivery, costs and procurement
- Negotiate and agree terms with airports on a site exit and decommissioning strategy, including signoff of environmental plans
- Negotiate fuel through putting arrangement with other industry counterparties
- Negotiate and agree operational outcomes for Aviation JV’s
- Promote internal alignment to ensure delivery of maximum value to the Viva Energy business
Skills, Competencies and Experience:
- Demonstrated negotiation skills and ability to build lasting external relationships
- Ability to multitask, problem solve and influence others
- Proven experience in developing contracts and originating deals with an entrepreneurial attitude
Education or Qualifications:
- Tertiary Qualification in a relevant discipline either from Engineering, Management, Finance or Commercial
- Minimum 5 years relevant commercial industry experience
