About the role:

This role provides an opportunity to be a key player in a high performing in-house legal team, as the primary legal support for the Viva Energy Consumer Business (to include the Coles Express Convenience Business planned to be acquired in 2023). Viva Energy represents a complex industry-leading organisation with a national footprint. With over 2,000 employees and contractors across the country and plans to invest $1 Billion over the five years we are committed to building Australia's energy future. You will be responsible for providing strategic, efficient, cost effective and results focused legal services. You will be providing technically sound and commercially pertinent legal advice across all Australian jurisdictions and a diverse range of businesses, in a fast paced, dynamic environment. About you:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • a strong background in commercial/corporate law gained within private practice or in-house with 8+ years PQE;
  • expertise in competition/consumer law, including in-depth knowledge of the Australian Consumer Law and privacy legislation;
  • an established track record in advising on advertising & marketing initiatives;
  • experience in credit & finance matters;
  • experience with advising on complex regulatory matters and frameworks;
  • excellent communication skills, drafting skills with strong attention to detail and highly developed analytical and negotiation skills;
  • an ability to work independently by self-managing workloads and projects, and also be team focused;
  • a current Australian Practicing Certificate.
