About the role
Reporting to the National Sales Manager, Transport, one of Viva Energy’s key commercial streams, you will have autonomy for the region, planning and executing segment and customer sales strategies to deliver Viva Energy’s growth aspirations in the region. Whilst autonomy is high, you will be part of a team that works closely together in leveraging knowledge, skills and experience, along with the broader Viva Energy organisation that shares a common purpose; helping people reach their destinations.
The portfolio of the role involves bulk fuel, Shell Card and lubricants within a defined market sector, as well as partnering with various other sales teams within Viva Energy to provide end-to-end service for our customers. The role is a true mix of Farming and Hunting; there is a strong existing portfolio requiring day to day support which includes working very closely with other internal teams including logistics and operations as well as a real opportunity to grow market share through prospecting and tendering.
There is a huge potential for growth in the region and your responsibilities will include:
- Developing existing customer relationships
- Managing day to day operational requirements for customers
- Seeking out and converting growth opportunities
- Following a strong sales process to achieve your targets
- Develop Strategic plans for all key customers
- Commercial accountability to structure deals, including complex negotiations
- Tender response development and negotiation through to completion
- Identifying opportunities to meet customer needs (existing and future)
About you/Skills and Experience
- Possess a solid understanding of a strong safety culture developed through your experience.
- Highly experienced sales professional with a proven track record in business development, sales and managing large accounts.
- Have a strong growth mindset, be highly commercial with experience understanding contracts and pricing, with proven ability to identify new opportunities and maximise growth.
- Be a strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen to create new solutions for clients.
- A knack to build and retain relationships with clients, and feel comfortable presenting to anyone from small business owners all the way to senior executives of major companies.
- An understanding and be comfortable working across internal teams, to ensure operational excellence for your customers, displaying a “customer obsessed” attitude.
- Importantly, you will be forever asking and challenging yourself on how else you can add value to customers and prospects.
