About the Role
As our Network Performance Manager, you are responsible for driving a performance culture across the business. You bring a mindset of continuous improvement and are a natural at engaging with colleagues and senior leaders.
In this role, you will establish a process and culture of ownership across our Operations, Asset Management, Customer, and corporate functions to enhance customer satisfaction through improvements in the safe and on-time delivery of services across our state.
Key responsibilities:
- Utilise Microsoft tools to collaborate and present findings.
- Collect, analyse, and establish trending patterns for train performance data.
- Analyse performance success of initiatives, identify key learnings, and assess the impact of changes on punctuality, reliability, and customer experience.
- Identify, lead, and manage change in line with business objectives, driving performance improvement across operational and technical departments.
- Identify operational barriers to improvement and generate solutions to address them.
- Lead communication forums to identify and address causes of network delays, and to enhance cross-functional interdependencies. Regularly report on network performance, demonstrating a clear understanding of performance while identifying opportunities for improvement using Power BI or other analysis platforms.
- Confidently run monthly meetings to deliver reports to business and senior leadership teams, translating and presenting business analytics in an accessible manner for non-technical audiences.
About You
If you are already working in rail, you might be coming to this role from operations, maintenance, planning, or scheduling. If you are new to rail, you may be bringing your career to us from transport, aviation, supply chain, logistics, or warehousing. Wherever your skills have come from, we are especially interested in you for your capabilities across stakeholder engagement, data driven insights, and commitment to continuous improvement.
You are a proactive and analytical professional with a passion for improving operational performance. With a strong background in interpreting data and developing engaging presentations, you thrive in a collaborative environment. Your experience in an operational setting, combined with your enthusiasm for rail operations, makes you an ideal candidate for this role.

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2023 in the range SO 1.1 (Base $126,708) to SO 1.3 (Base $133,696).
