About the role
The Business Resilience Specialist supports the Operations Compliance and Resilience team to maintain compliance with key frameworks, including the Emergency Management Act 2013, ISO 31000 Risk Management, and the Rail Safety National Law 2012, while undertaking additional duties aligned to their role and capabilities.
Key accountabilities include:
- Coordinate and deliver emergency management training (including warden and fire extinguisher programs).
- Develop and maintain business resilience and emergency training materials.
- Ensure facilities comply with AS3745, including emergency plan development and reviews.
- Manage emergency response planning, testing, and documentation updates.
- Engage with external emergency services for training, collaboration, and familiarisation sessions.
- Support emergency incidents, assurance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Business Resilience & Emergency Management Function
- Plan, coordinate, and support emergency exercises and multi-agency activities.
- Maintain resilience documentation aligned with legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Provide advice on emergency management compliance, including AS3745 standards.
- Support incident response, disruption planning, and business continuity activities.
- Contribute to governance frameworks, audits, and action tracking for resilience programs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Location & Travel Considerations
This position is based out of the Bourke St office, with ongoing statewide travel required. While visiting various locations and site visits as per job requirements this is a Monday – Friday, Dayshift position.
About you
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Tertiary qualification in Emergency Management (Certificate or higher in Emergency Management, Risk or Public Safety)
- Demonstrated industry experience in similar role
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation and delivery of AS3745 emergency management standards.
- Current and valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
- Ability to undertake work-related statewide travel
