About the role
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Heavy Rail Plant Operator to join V/Line’s Geelong gang to assist with keeping Victorian’s moving throughout the region by participating in maintenance of rail infrastructure, including the renewal of bridges, culverts, signals structures, signage, platforms and other miscellaneous structures. Promoting a work life balance and more time with your family, you will be required to work a 4 day roster.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Contribute to a safe workplace environment where risks are identified, understood, and managed
- Operate heavy plant equipment in a safe manner
- Cleaning and general maintenance ensuring services are completed for truck and other plant equipment
- You may be required to work away from home in various locations around Victoria on occasion
About you
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Demonstrated alignment to V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.
- Valid Heavy Combination (HC) Truck Drivers License
- Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure (highly desirable)
- A zero harm safety approach is essential
- Reliable and the ability to work as part of adiverse team
- Attention to detail
- Loader / Backhoe / Excavator licences maybe required and advantageous

The salary for this position will be paid in accordance with the current V/Line Asset Management Enterprise Agreement IMW (TRACK) 2.2 ($42.4808 per hour)
The selection process may include aptitude assessments, a behavioural event interview, probity (police) check and medical check.
