Reporting to Track Supervisor, could you be our new Medium Rail Plant Operator?

The purpose of the Medium Rail Plant Operator is to carry out tasks associated with the maintenance and renewal/upgrade on track, civil structures.

About the role:

• This position runs on 10 days on, 4 days off rotating roster:
  • Mornings: Day shift – 7am to 5:30pm
  • Nights: Night shift – 8pm – 6am
• Travel Victoria! This position will be based throughout Victoria. There will be a requirement to work away from home.

Duties:

• Operate a truck or plant in the medium category which will include but not be limited to loading and unloading plant for transportation.
• Participate in the replacement of rail, ballast and fastenings as directed as well as the cleaning and maintaining, general maintenance and ensuring services are completed as per their scheduled dates for the medium truck and other medium plant equipment.
• both manual labour and medium plant operation

About you:

• Demonstrated alignment to V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership, and human rights
• Certificate II Rail Infrastructure or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of employment
• Must hold a valid MR truck licence
• Experienced in the operation of medium rigid trucks, loaders, backhoes, and excavators
• Highly reliable, Strong team Player and safety conscious
• Be open to working overtime, travel away for work when required

The salary for this position will be paid in accordance with the EA level IMW (Track) 2.1 $40.6839 per hour. The selection process may include aptitude assessments, a behavioural event interview, probity (police) check and medical check
