The Maintenance Planning Team is excited to welcome two new positions to their diverse team of four. The role can be based from our head office in Melbourne, or from one of regional depots including, Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo and Warragul. However, your will need to attend the Melbourne office at least once a week.

About the role

The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will work collaboratively with the Regional Asset Manager and Project Managers to develop detailed and optimised work schedules for maintenance delivery.

Additionally, this role will support regional projects to ensure that all maintenance planning and scheduling elements are compliant, resourced, and able to be executed on time and within budget.

With the aim to develop each team member to understand the complexities of each region, this role has room for professional development and career opportunities.

In addition to this, key accountabilities include:

  • Developing work plans within V/Line’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System, ensuring that scope, materials, labour, costs and specialist requirements are accurately captured within the work orders through engagement with stakeholders
  • Representing Network Maintenance at Pre-Occupation Planning meetings and communicating work scopes for delivery
  • Conducting regional resource forecasting by analysing resource levels and ability to meet maintenance obligations
  • Developing and maintaining an accurate suite of reports for weekly and monthly KPI reporting and forecasts
  • Proactively identifying and maximising any windows of opportunity (time on track) on the V/Line network to undertake additional work scopes.

About you

You are a strong analytical thinker with a passion for working within a safety-focused environment. You can demonstrate a history of maintaining compliance within a work setting and enjoy fostering relationships with all levels of stakeholders.

You are detail orientated and have excellent verbal and written skills which allow you to communicate effectively with others. You possess advanced computer literacy and have demonstrated experience with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Power BI applications.

Our ideal candidate will also possess the following:

  • A background in maintenance planning and scheduling or experience within a similar role (essential)
  • Strong understanding of works management, maintenance planning and scheduling principles
  • Experience from a Trade or Technical background (desirable)
  • Advanced computer maintenance management system experience (eg. JDE, Maximo) (highly desirable)
  • Demonstrated alignment to V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.
