About the role

Due to internal promotion, the Senior Business Analyst role has become available.This role will provide high quality business analysis services and strategies to optimise V/Lines Asset Management & Performance (AM&P) business unit.The goal is to improve project/change initiative outcomes and benefits in a team who are friendly, aspiring and wanting welcome team members succeed.The role will guide and oversee the performance of t e AM&P business analyst resources to ensure the team is aligned and key stakeholder requirements are met in accordance with agreed plans.

Key Accountabilities include:

Develop business cases to address performance improvement opportunities, key capability and process issues identified through strategic reviews.

Provide support to management around the development and implementation of AM&P improvement initiatives.

Prepare reports by collecting, probing summarising, visualising information and trends to provide outcomes.

Guide/mentor staff to develop and continue to build a positive team culture.

Create process maps, conduct analysis and identify cost effective solutions that promote digital enhancements where possible.

Facilitate workshops.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be able to fit into an existing friendly, diverse team with proven demonstratable experience as a Senior Business Analyst or similar role within an operational and or project/program environment.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

Deep understanding and recent practice of business analysis concepts & techniques outlined in BABOK.

Experience with business case development.

The ability to apply BA theory methods and techniques to both waterfall and agile projects.

Advanced Microsoft Office suite of applications – Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, PowerApps.

Highly developed communication skills, with an ability to share complex matters in a simple manner.

Tertiary qualification in business, finance, engineering or information technology advantageous.

Demonstrated alignment to V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.
