The Track Force Protection Coordinator (Night Shift) position is involved with maintenance and renewal projects, major works projects, and third-party projects within the V/Line CBD Network.
Based in West Melbourne at our new FGate location, this role reports to the Assistant Track Protection Manager, and is responsible for planning, execution, and coordination of track protection for activities on track .
It requires solid knowledge of rail, good communication skills, and a commitment to workplace safety & well-being.
About the role
- Make sure working environments provide for the safety and well-being of staff, the community, customers, rolling stock and the infrastructure
- Undertake site safety inspections/audits and prepare recommendations and reports
- Ensure the implementation of agreed protection plans and environmental management plans
- See that relevant ‘work on track’ rules and procedures are followed and adhered to
- Participate in meetings, share information, and provide input on issues
- Conduct ‘Tool-Box’ talks on Track Protection recommendations
- Act in the capacity of Track Force Protection Co-ordinator, Hand Signaller and Lookout, as required by the Assistant Track Protection Manager
About you
You will hold a Track Force Protection Coordinator qualification, TFPC Level 3.3 or TFPC Level 3.2.
You have:
§ At least one year of experience at the level of TFPC3.2
§ Demonstrated experience working on track within the inner suburban area of Melbourne
§ Sound knowledge of the ‘Work on Track’ Rules and Operating Procedures
§ Availability and willingness to work regular night shift.
§ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel
§ Ability to answer queries, identify needs, communicate services, and solve problems
§ Good, clear written and verbal communication skills, and interested in finding ways to simplify communication

The salary for this position will be paid in accordance with the current V/Line Asset Management Enterprise Agreement 2019, IMW (TRACK) 2.4, $46.0318 per hour.
This is a Medical Category 1 position.
The selection process may include aptitude assessments, a behavioural event interview, probity (police) check and medical check.
