About the role

As the Infrastructure Quality Officer, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s Network Maintenance Group.

The purpose of the Infrastructure Quality Officer is to ensure quality compliance and assurance in the delivery of Annual Works Plan work packages.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Mentor and guide management, supervisors, and staff to continuously improve maintenance activity processes with a focus on safety, quality, and risk.
  • Suspend maintenance works and reject product or service due to identified quality, risk, or compliance issues as per V/Line’s Non-Conformance process.
  • Drive a quality culture at all levels of maintenance activities to minimise risk around actual asset information and condition.
  • Engage with the delivery agents and process owners to confirm activities meet the technical and quality requirements.
  • Undertake inspection activities on Major Periodic Maintenance works programs and develop inspection reports in a timely manner.

About you

This position will suit a qualified and experienced track professional who has supervisory experience in the rail environment, experience working with maintenance and renewals procedures, contractor management, compliance in medium to large scale works.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Demonstrated alignment to V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership, and human rights.
  • Sound understanding of the Rail Safety Act 2006 (Vic) and V/Line rail standards and operating procedures.
  • Current Driver’s License.
  • Rail Industry Workers Card (RIWC)is essential plus:
    • Certificate III in Rail Infrastructure and/ or
    • Tertiary qualifications in an engineering discipline and/ or
    • Trade qualified in construction infrastructure.
  • Current V/Line Track Force Protection Coordinator.
