Reporting to the Head of Asset Intelligence & Digital, and working in a motivated and friendly team, could you be our new Spatial Systems Manager?
The Spatial Systems Manager is responsible for the planning and implementation of V/Line’s geospatial information management system, and the continuous management of all aspects of V/Line’s spatial data. This position will suit a motivated spatial systems professional, with a background in a heavy infrastructure environment who has the willingness and experience to make this position their own.

- Make your mark! Establish V/Line’s spatial systems footprint to unlock data from across our rail network to help inform our decision making in the within business.

- The team: This team will start off small, but you will be working in closely with a broader team of motivated and supportive members across the asset performance, asset intelligence and digital areas.

Duties:
- Lead and define the business’s objectives and requirements for spatial information, data schemas and integration with V/Line’s asset information management system.
- Work with department of transport’s strategic asset management team to deliver a solution that will integrate the asset registers.
- Ensure that V/Line complies with its obligation for asset information management as outlined in the Asset Information Strategy.
- Work with the maintenance teams, to upskill their capabilities to leverage the capabilities of GIS systems for asset validation and data collection.
- Work with the asset integration team, Asset System and Data, the V/Line project delivery and the Big Build to ensure that project delivery authorities are using the latest reference data and asset augmentation requests are completed thoroughly.
About you:
- A relevant geospatial tertiary qualification (Geographic Information Science, Geomatic Science/Engineering or Spatial Sciences, Computer Science/Engineering, Surveying).
- A demonstrated history of GIS management with a sound understanding of GIS mapping software products including ESRI ArcGIS.
- Comprehensive understanding of cartographic and Geodesign principles
- Must have the ability to develop maps and manage GIS data collection, Spatial data ETL (export, transform, load) with experience in the FME system.
- Skills in digital engineering, BIM integration, DL/ML, gaming engines, extended reality (XR /AR/VR), IoT, PowerBI and Blockchain
- The ability to manage a small team as this team grows.

A generous salary in circa $165,000 including superannuation, plus free myki travel within metro and regional Victoria.
