Based primarily at Woodend, the Services Officer manages the day-to-day operating facilities and customer services activities at the station. The Service Officer is required to work shift work, weekends and public holidays.
Responsibilities of the Service Officer include:
- Managing the day-to-day operations and customer service at the station
- Selling tickets and providing up to date information to customers regarding services and changes to services as required
- Ensuring coaches are organised and coordinated effectively for special events, disruptions, and closures
- Maintaining the presentation and cleanliness of the station
- Working collaboratively within the team and wider functions
- Ensuring the safety of colleagues and customers at all times
About you
Previous experience in face-to-face customer service and an operational environment is an advantage; so is having good situational awareness along with demonstrating that you value safety and make it a key workplace priority.Or, you may have a background in hospitality, retail, supply, manufacturing, care work, or any profession that values safety equally with service. Previous experience in rail or transport would be ideal.

This position is classified as a TRAINEE STATION STAFF ($26.3917) whilst doing training for 4-6 weeks.Upon successful completion of the training, this part-time position is then classified as STN OFF C1 ($39.6386), with pay & conditions in accordance with the current V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2019.It is a Medical Category 3 position.
