About the role
The Cyber Security Designer role is a senior technical member of Office of the Chief Engineer at V/Line and will play a key role in guiding stakeholders through data networks and operational systems delivery challenges . You will design, test, and manage IT security controls implementation across V/Line’s IT Infrastructure stack, with a focus on Operational Control Systems.
This role is responsible for providing strategic direction and input to security roadmaps and will interact between the Information Security team and the enterprise stakeholders to deliver projects and initiatives in a secure and timely manner.
Key Accountabilities include:
Act as a subject matter expert in designing practical information security controls for OT networks using industry-recommended guidelines and standards of practice.
Collaborate with the project delivery teams, enterprise architects and solution designers to support the delivery and design of enterprise security solutions.
Assess and report security control maturity and deficiencies using the enterprise risk management framework and procedures and assist in the development of remediation and improvement plans.
Provide subject matter expertise when assessing and implementing processes and technologies used to address emerging information security threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory obligations and standards.
Cultivate a culture of information security awareness across the organisation.
About you
The ideal candidate will possess good technical knowledge and experience across multiple domains including cloud, applications, networking, infrastructure, identity management, data security and threat/vulnerability management. You will demonstrate passion, vision and drive and will act as a respected advisor across the organization.
What we’re looking for:
Ability to articulate technical view or advice in a way that can be consumed at various levels of competency to ensure successful delivery of a solution.
Knowledge in the design and implementation of Operational Technology (OT) security technical environments and in the development of associated cyber security frameworks (as distinct from corporate IT or ICS).
Cloud security design experience across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
Well-developed communication skills, including written communication and reporting skills to describe complex issues and actions clearly and concisely.
Experience in data security controls and techniques such as data loss prevention, identity access management, threat intelligence and log management.
Tertiary or equivalent qualifications in computer science, cyber security, computer/electronic engineering, or a technology-related field of study
An industry leading Cloud Certification (e.g., AWS/Azure)
Desirable
Professional & Accredited security management training or certification (CISSP, CISM, CISA or similar credentials)
Relevant formal information security qualifications e.g., SABSA
ITIL V4 foundation certification
Project Management Certification
