About the role
As the Civil Supervisor you are integral to the success of V/Line’s Network Development and Asset Maintenance Group.
Reporting to Network Structures, Facilities and Vegetation Manager, could you be our next Civil Maintenance Supervisor? An exciting role that is both office and field based, giving you experience with many different structures, projects both in complex nature as well as under development and constructed that will require end to end involvement from a safety, design, completion seeking input and making a difference from an Asset Management maintenance of the asset giving you a diverse range of day to day activities.
Key Accountabilities include:
- This role will see you maintaining railways bridges, culvert and other structures and associated assets in a safe and reliable condition to meet the operating requirements.
- You will be required to be accountable for the effective and efficient delivery of civil maintenance services to the specified standards, safety, quality, and cost.
- There may be times where you will need to work away from home on occasion or support the day/afternoon or night shifts throughout various locations around Victoria.
- You will promote employee engagement through open and up front communication providing and continuing a supportive inclusive culture encouraging growth and development of the team.
About you
Our ideal candidate will understand civil construction, the different range of structures, contracts, bridges, culverts, woodwork, ability to understand defects to engineering standards, be competent with technology and work order software and wants to continue to learn, grow and develop. Ideally you will have excellent leadership skills with building repour, be empathetic and keep your team engaged.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Demonstrated alignment to V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership, and human rights.
- To be considered for this role it is essential to have a minimum of 5 years demonstratable industry experience.
- Qualified as a Foreman Artisan under the Public Transport Corporation framework or appropriate AQF qualifications in Civil Construction and / or Maintenance, and in front Line Supervision of Crews
- Vic Roads Level 2 Bridge Assessment qualification (or Rail Industry equivalent.
- Both Certificate 2 and 3 in rail structures
- Experience in leading and managing a team.
- Valid Victorian Drivers Licence
- The ability to communicate with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Able to manage your time and prioritise tasks and deliver projects within the allocated time and in budget.
