About the role
- As the Medium Rail Plant Operator, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s Network Development Asset and Maintenance Group.

Based in Echuca, Regional Victoria, this position due to internal promotion has become available andresponsible for carrying out tasks operating / driving trucks and or plant in the medium category associated with the maintenance and renewal/upgrade on track for the Victorian Rail Network
Key Accountabilities include:
- Operate a truck or plant in the medium category which will include but not be limited to loading and unloading plant for transportation
- Other role responsibilities also include participating in the replacement of rail, ballast and fastenings as directed as well as the cleaning and maintaining, general maintenance and ensuring services are completed as per their scheduled dates for the medium truck and other medium plant equipment
- There may be a requirement to work away from home, working day, afternoon or night shifts in various locations as required
- Current roster is 7.30 am to 4.00 pm with every second Monday off, however you may however need to work afternoon and night shift and travel on occasion depending on business requirements.
- You may be required to travel to different regions on occasion to support the business requirements and work on day or afternoon shift.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Demonstrated alignment to V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.
- Certificate II Rail Infrastructure or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of employment
- Must hold a valid MR truck licence
- Experienced in the operation of medium rigid trucks, loaders, backhoes, and excavators
- Work safely with a zero harm approach to safety

The salary for this position will be paid in accordance with the current V/Line Asset Management Enterprise Agreement 2019 IMW (TRACK) 2.1 at $40.6839 per hour.
