Head of Project Communications
Lead & deliver effective strategy, clear communications, and genuine engagement across Projects for V/Line.
About the role
The Head of Project Communications leads the delivery of all internal and external communications specific to the Projects group.
In this newly created role, you and your team will elevate the capability, branding, and profile of the Projects division.
A key part of this role will be to utilise your professional expertise to develop & deliver the Project Communications strategic plan and work with key stakeholders to realise this plan.
Key responsibilities:
§Communications - Provide communications expertise and editorial skills to facilitate a wide range of materials for stakeholder engagement across the organisation, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
§Stakeholder engagement - Collaborate and work closely with internal teams to achieve excellent customer experience, as well as building genuine, effective relationships across the broader Transport portfolio, with alliance partners and transport agencies.
§Digital communications - Support the development of V/Line’s social media presence and develop digital media requirements for the Projects function.
§Brand management – Work collaboratively to identify risks & mitigations and provide strategic advice to impact positive customer experiences.
§Strategic plan – Develop a Projects communications strategy and create engaging content, while ensuring consistency with our broader communications framework.
Essential requirements
§Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing.
§Six or more years’ experience in communications, public relations and/or marketing roles, preferably within rail, construction, projects, or government.
§Proven ability to engage with your team, and key stakeholders, to build strong working relationships.
§Understanding of digital platforms and the ability to deliver effective communications to different audiences.
§Experience developing and implementing communications strategies and plans.

You have accomplished professional skills and communicate with impact. You confidently navigate complex processes, bringing your key stakeholders on the journey.
You have demonstrated experience producing comprehensive plans that effectively analyse stakeholders, reflect potential issues, propose mitigations, and define messaging & channels.

§Coaching and developing others in effective business engagement, communications, and stakeholder management.
