Join V/Line and Nigel Leishman's team, contributing to Metropolitan Roads Program Alliance (MRPA), in this eight-month, fixed-term role, as a Graduate Project Engineer.

The Graduate Project Engineer supports the Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Site Supervisor and to apply the learning obtained at university to practical engineering activities, under supervision.
Responsibilities may include assisting in engineering & project management, design solution development, and engineering investigation and analysis.
The Graduate Project Engineer also assists in coordinating contractors and ensuring that where works are to be undertaken on the V/Line network, those works are conducted safely and in accordance with appropriate standards.
About the role
The key accountabilities of this role are to:
- Define engineering requirements.
- Develop appropriate engineering solutions.
- Define and coordinate interfaces between disciplines.
- Integrate systems, components, and design solutions.
- Assist in the preparation, evaluation, and implementation of design solutions.
- Assist in the preparation of Contract Documents and appointment of suppliers.
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of Inspection & Test Plans (ITP's).
- Maintain quality records.
- Assist in the surveillance and coordinating of Consultants and Contractors to ensure safe and correct delivery of works.
About you
This role has an administrative, project management focus.
It would be well suited to an Engineering Grad who has graduated any time in the past three years, and is seeking to get practical, hands-on experience and exposure to the Projects environment.
It is essential that you have earned a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or similar).
You must also be able to demonstrate:
- Excellent administrative skills.
- Clear, effective verbal and written communication skills, to be able to produce accurate reports & business documents and engage & inform stakeholders.
- Ability to meet the demands & timelines of multiple project tasks and deadlines.

This is an eight-month, fixed-term, full-time opportunity with 4-weeks' annual leave (pro rata), superannuation, and free myki for metro & regional travel. At this stage, it is expected that the role will be for a period of 8 months, with the possibility of extension to up to a total of 12 months.
Salary for this role commences from $79,646 total remuneration (inclusive of superannuation).
