About the role
As the Services Officer / Conductor, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s Customer Group.
This dynamic, multifunctional role has you managing the day-to-day operations and customer service at the Bendigo station or providing service as a Conductor on Bendigo services.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Selling tickets, making announcements, and providing up to date information to customers regarding services and changes to services
- Ensuring coaches are organised and coordinated effectively for special events, disruptions, and closures
- Maintaining the presentation and cleanliness of the station or carriages
- Working collaboratively within the team and wider functions
- Ensuring the safety of colleagues and customers at all times
This is a permanent, part-time role, with a 4-week, rotating-roster that includes early starts, late finishes, weekends, & public holidays. There will also be opportunities to pick up additional hours.
About you
Service experience in a customer-facing, operational environment—such as aviation or supermarket retail—is an advantage. You have good situational awareness and can demonstrate that you value & prioritise workplace safety.
Essential
- Successful completion of Year 10 (minimum)
- Victorian Driver Licence
- Availability for shift work & occasional overtime
- Willingness & ability to travel to other stations, to provide service along the line
- Previous face-to-face customer service experience and a demonstrated commitment to workplace safety

This position is classified as a TRAINEE STATION STAFF ($26.3917) whilst doing training for 4-6 weeks.
Upon successful completion of the Trainee Station Staff training, the position is then classified as a STN OFF C1 ($39.6386) in accordance with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2019.
This is a Medical Category 3 position.The selection process may include aptitude assessments, a behavioural-based interview, probity (police) check, and medical check.
