About the role
The Senior Software Developer will act as a principal specialist in leading stakeholders, whilst acting as one of V/Lines technology experts. It will be a requirement to handle the entire SDLC and self-manage assigned projects. This role will act as the point of escalation for multiple assignments. It will be an expectation to understand and deal with high priority project/development issues.
Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2019. The successful applicant will be paid in line with relevant skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Problem analysis, design & implementation of software
- Participate in solutions identification & build
- Take responsibility for successful delivery of new enhancements or complex/urgent defects, or facilitation of these activities
- Lead teams in peer review sessions, resolving issues, challenging others
- Coaching & assisting other team members
About you
Essential experience:
- Secure software development practices
- Experience implementing software design patterns
- Knowledge of solution architecture practices
- Technology experience essential to the role;
- C# .Net 5 and above
- Angular 6 and above
- SQL Server, TSQL Views and Stored Procedures
- Entity Framework, Linq2DB, or other ORMs
- ASP.Net CORE, Web API, MVC, RESTful services
- Typescript, HTML, CSS, JSON, XML
- RabbitMQ, SignalR
Desirable experience:
- Tertiary qualification such as software development/engineering, computer science or related discipline
- Technology experience desirable to the role;
- Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS or others)
- AWS (Compute, Storage, Integration, IaaC, Networking)
- Build tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins or others)
- Solution design principles
- Application security principles
Along with the technical skills above you will have the ability to work on and prioritise multiple initiatives, leadership qualities and a continuous improvement mindset.
