About the role
We're seeking a proactive and technically skilled Reliability & Performance Engineer to join our Asset Management & Performance team. In this role, you'll lead root cause investigations, facilitate workshops, and work closely with frontline staff to improve asset reliability and maintenance strategies.
You'll be instrumental in shaping predictive maintenance practices and performance frameworks that support the safe and efficient operation of Victoria's rail network.
Key accountabilities include:
- Conduct RCA, RCM, and FMECA to reduce failures and improve asset performance.
- Facilitate workshops and engage with cross-functional teams and partners.
- Monitor asset condition and performance to inform maintenance strategies.
- Support the development of Reliability Growth Plans and performance KPIs.
- Provide technical advice and insights to engineering and maintenance teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to capture accurate data and drive improvements.
- Contribute to a safe, customer-focused, and high-performing workplace.
About you
You're a hands-on engineer with a growth mindset and a passion for solving real-world problems. You're confident working on-site, engaging with frontline teams, and taking ownership of outcomes. You bring a strong foundation in reliability and performance engineering, and you're ready to make a meaningful impact in a complex, fast-moving environment.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Demonstrated expertise in reliability and performance engineering.
- Strong knowledge of RCA, RCM, and FMECA methodologies.
- Experience working with frontline staff and maintenance improvement plans.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and email communication.
- A positive, solutions-focused mindset and willingness to learn.
- Industry knowledge in rail infrastructure, or complex operational environment is highly desirable
- Demonstrated alignment with V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred)
