Who we are looking for
We're looking for someone who is keen to contribute, and shape how we manage our assets at Wannon Water. We are excited to offer an opportunity to a new team member who can use and share their knowledge and experience. Someone who is keen to learn, collaborate and work together with others from across the organisation to improve the lifecycle of our assets.
You will help us understand the condition of our assets, creating maintenance programs and selecting assets which need to be replaced to ensure we continue to deliver our important services to the community and customers.
This is a full-time position based in Warrnambool with a generous salary of $86,275 to $93,801 p.a. plus superannuation. Although a full time position, we're accepting of part time employment and flexible working arrangements.
Job Description
What you'll be doing
On a day-to-day basis, you'll be:
- Working together and individually to understand our assets and what we can do to support the wider organisation to improve our assets by developing maintenance and inspection programs.
- Capturing and recording asset and condition information in our asset information systems.
- Creating asset management plans on all kinds of assets including plant and equipment and infrastructure which will help us manage and extend their life.
- Conducting investigative work to find out how we can better manage our assets.
- Managing contractors who are servicing or performing condition assessments on our assets.
- Getting out in the field to find out the condition and criticality of our assets/
- Using exciting computer programs that will help you delve into some data or choose what assets need to be replaced or repaired, including new and exciting technology so we can understand our assets better
- Undertaking personal development opportunities by working with other industry groups and water authorities.
Desired Skills and Experience
What you’ll bring
We're looking for someone with a broad skill set who can apply their knowledge, learn new skills, and contribute within a dynamic and inter-disciplinary environment. Your skills might include:
- Qualifications or relevant experience in asset management, engineering, and/or project management or strong field experience in the management and maintenance of assets.
- Administration knowledge to capture asset and condition information in computer systems.
- Experience or knowledge of the water supply and sewerage industry.
- Experience in asset or maintenance systems, management or asset renewal planning.
- High level communication skills - the ability to distil information and concisely document it.
The above skills are desirable but not essential. You'll be working in an inter-disciplinary team with a considerable range of outputs, where a range of competencies are required.
You'll need to be competent managing contractors during the project development phase and on site. You should also be able to have technical discussions with stakeholders and contractors while maintaining a customer-focused approach to asset management.
