Who we are looking for
We're looking for a proactive and detail-driven professional who can apply their civil, environmental engineering or science expertise to manage our monitoring and reporting programs.
This role plays a key part in the effective collection, analysis, and reporting of operational data. This helps our teams to make informed decisions and maintain high standards across our services to achieve water quality and environmental compliance.
You'll support emergency responses and coordinate key components of our integrated management systems. This means embedding consistent and effective processes that support compliance and continuous improvement.
Working with a range of stakeholders, you'll help to deliver outcomes that benefit both our organisation and the community.
This position is an ongoing full-time position based in Warrnambool. This position comes with a generous salary of $118,669 to $135,197 p.a. plus superannuation.
Job Description
What you'll be doing
On a day-to-day basis, you'll:
- Coordinate and maintain robust, systematic processes for operational monitoring. This includes water quality and field data, licensing and entitlements, compliance, management systems and key performance reporting.
- Manage and deliver recurrent operational and compliance reports in a timely manner This will include annual, regulatory, and internal reporting across water quality, environmental performance, and integrated management systems.
- Facilitate timely and accurate reporting of monitoring performance to key stakeholders, including internal branches, Executive and Board, regulators, and other departments as required.
- Support emergency preparedness and response by maintaining plans and procedures, coordinating incident response and reporting, and contributing to training, compliance, and continuous improvement activities.
Desired Skills and Experience
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone with
- A degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or Science, or suitable other equivalent.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to guide, support and develop a high-performing team.
- Strong experience in treatment and/or network operations with technical understanding of drinking water quality, environmental compliance, recycled water or similar operational systems.
- The ability to provide sound, timely advice and influence decisions that shape our service delivery.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with sound judgement and the ability to manage priorities.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, including the ability to work effectively with regulators and internal teams.
- A strong commitment to safety, accountability and high-quality outcomes for our people, our customers and the environment.
