Where can water take you?
Advancing your career will advance our community too.
Water is essential for our future. In each and every Water Corporation role, you’ll have the chance to develop a career, and help the community. With a diverse mix of roles, locations and opportunities across Western Australia, we seek people who want to make a change for the better.
About the role:
Join us on our journey to innovation - Solution Architecture isn’t just about orchestrating designs and building tech that helps people. In this job, you’ll have an opportunity to expand your breadth and depth of domains and tech knowledge by shaping different strategies.
As the Solutions Architect, you’ll be developing a variety of technical solutions by mapping out business processes and requirements. You’ll be ensuring customer-facing business applications like SAP, ERP and Salesforce can talk with each other – and play together. You’ll be aligning systems/technical requirements with the Corporation’s architecture standards, principles, and roadmaps.
What the role will involve:
In this job, you’ll be creating and building things to solve different business problems with technology. You’ll collaborate with Business Analysts, Business Partners, external service providers and business SMEs to apply designs, ideas and concepts to common problems.
These challenges are usually around productivity improvements, optimising performance, and automating processes where the workloads increase for the same number of people.
You’ll have the freedom to design and implement systems that are going to help people do their jobs better. You’ll cover a breadth of different portfolios with the ability to move between them. Which means you’ll get involved with a far greater variety of work.
Your work may cover areas like asset maintenance, HR, finance, engineering, and business performance. If expanding your breadth and depth of domains and tech platforms is important to you, there’s plenty on offer here.
You’ll also work with Enterprise Architects to create roadmaps and strategies. You’re closer to business decisions because they’re made right here, which means you’ll get closer to shaping and influencing the overall direction of the business.
And if you’re lacking a bit of purpose in your work right now? The work you do at Water Corporation stays in WA. So, you’ll see how your work impacts those closest to you.
Key skills and experience:
While a tertiary level qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Business Information Systems, Information Management, Computer Science, etc.) is nice to have, the biggest requirement for this job is that you’ll know how to integrate technology – i.e. making sure software can talk to each other and play nicely.
Additionally, your knowledge of IT architecture and IT governance, along with your understanding of technical and organizational dependencies across the organisation will support you to thrive in this role.
Apply: If you are interested in the above opportunity please submit a covering letter and resume that best demonstrates your ability to meet the requirements of the role.
