About the role

As a Software Testing Automation Specialist at Water Corporation, you’ll be one of our 800 professionals who work with 7 different groups, 50 functions, and 3,800 employees every day. This is an opportunity to work alongside and learn from creative, talented colleagues, who bring a range of diverse perspectives to work each day.

Your days are interesting, varied and challenging. We are introducing a new testing capability to the business, including test automation. You will be in the unique position to influence and embed the growth and development of both our new in-house testing capability, and our existing process automation solutions.

You’ll work closely with our application custodians and Test Manager to ensure that our Test Automation approach aligns to industry best practise, both in testing and automation.

What the role will involve

  • Work closely with application custodians to identify use cases for test automation aligning to industry best practise.
  • Undertaking benefit and ROI analysis to understand our contribution to efficiency targets
  • Create test approaches including scripting, deployment and maintenance of test automation
  • Create solution design documentation, and identify and capture CIs for our architecture and Service Delivery systems
  • Perform regular maintenance and upliftment of automation test scripts to reflect application changes
  • Perform system integration testing, production validation testing and facilitate user acceptance testing of our automation
  • Provide Level 2 and 3 support for testing automation; and coach / mentor business analysts to provide Level 1.5 support

Key skills and experience

TOSCA automation software experience will be required for this role. Experience with Automation Anywhere and UiPath and performance testing tools like JMeter, NeoLoad, Loadrunner will be advantageous.

It would be great if you have your ISTQB qualification or have exposure to formal testing approaches from a Business Analysis or other relevant IT qualification. You will need to demonstrate practical application of functional automation, establishing frameworks, test scripting and script maintenance. Well-developed stakeholder engagement and influencing skills will be important in this role.
