About the role
We have a fixed term opportunity for a full time Level 6 Specialist to join Community Engagement from mid October 2023 – end May 2024.
Reporting to Lead – Community Engagement the role will primarily provide strategic communication and engagement support for the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant (ASDP).
What the role will involve
- Develop and deliver stakeholder and community engagement strategies, activities, and materials for the largest infrastructure project Water Corporation currently has in its 5 year capital program.
- Drive multi-agency collaboration to build a positive brand for ASDP and improve positive interactions with communities and stakeholders.
- Identify risks, manage contentious issues and participate in the provision of briefings and community engagement advice and recommendations to the project team.
Key skills and experience
- Extensive experience in community engagement, stakeholder, and issues management for large infrastructure projects
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with an ability to summarise complex issues for common use
- High level of attention to detail and initiative
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing deadlines
- Degree qualifications in communications, public relations, community development or other relevant discipline
