A permanent full-time opportunity located in the heart of Leederville is currently available, with option for RDO and potential hybrid working arrangements. Reporting to the Manager – Operational Security & Incident, your job will be managing the Critical Incident Management Systems (CIMS) and ensuring it runs effectively and efficiently. You will coordinate the support, training, and continual improvement of this system.
As the subject matter expert, your stakeholder engagement skills will be vital to this role, as there will be inter-agency government and emergency services engagement with approximately thirty organisations, such as Department of Fire & Emergency Services, Department of Health, WAPOL etc. You will engage with representatives from these CIMS users and the application vendor.
You will establish strong relationships with other agencies as there will be collaboration and project work.
You will have the ability to overcome hurdles when endeavouring to find common grounds with other departments. Transparency is key to a united and successful inter-agency partnership.
Due to the nature of incident management, you may be required to work on weekends or after hours in response to the major incident.

If you are looking for a repetitive, tedious, business as usual administrative role, this role isn’t for you. There will be administrative support duties however that isn’t the primary fundament of your role. Your key focus will be driving the incident management application.
If you are looking for a technical IT role coding and building systems, this role isn’t for you. Whilst you will be the subject matter expert on providing business requirements of the system, you will not be the one to develop the system upgrades. Instead, you will be in charge of making sure upgrades are scheduled in and participate in the testing of the CIMS upgrades.
This role can be demanding, unpredictable, and volatile. You will have the natural ability to stay calm under pressure in this dynamic environment. You love the uncertainty of what the day will bring and find excitement in incident management support.
This is not your average Monday-Friday job. IT’S WAY BETTER!
There will be potential to travel around to our sites.
What you’ll need to apply:
A valid WA Driver’s license
Substantial operational knowledge and experience of State Emergency Management Plans
Considerable experience with Critical Incident Management Systems
Transferrable administration experience to be able to support your business area.
Willingness to travel regionally to assist with training staff on incident management.
