About the role
Our Project Management team has a permanent opportunity for an experienced Senior Principal – IWSS Commissioning to lead the development and execution of commissioning strategies for major changes to the configurations of the Integrated Water Supply Scheme (IWSS), necessitated by inclusion of new water sources, changed network assets and changed network requirements. This is a senior leadership role that ensures our infrastructure projects are delivered with operational readiness, technical excellence, and alignment to long-term strategic goals.
What the role will involve
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining the overarching commissioning strategy, process, and master plan for changes to the IWSS
- Providing high-level technical expertise and strategic oversight from project conception through design and construction
- Identifying and mitigating commissioning risks, ensuring proactive resolution of potential issues
- Leading the creation of detailed commissioning plans, protocols, test procedures, and schedules for multiple projects
- Managing commissioning budgets, workforce planning, and resource allocation to meet project objectives
- Directing all pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities, validating system performance against design and regulatory standards
- Fostering a culture of technical excellence through leadership, mentoring, and team development.
- Collaborating extensively with cross-functional teams to integrate commissioning activities and minimise operational impact
- Representing Water Corporation in project meetings, advocating for commissioning best practices
About you
To succeed in this role, you'll have:
- A qualification in engineering or a relevant discipline, along with extensive experience in commissioning large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably within water or utilities
