  • About the role

    We are seeking a motivated and collaborative professional to join our Asset Management Services team as a Planner – External Approvals, supporting the delivery of Water Corporation’s major capital investment program.

    This role plays a critical part in ensuring projects successfully navigate external approvals processes, enabling infrastructure delivery that supports communities across Western Australia.

    You will provide specialist guidance and coordination of External Approvals required for asset investment and delivery projects, working closely with planners, project managers and regulatory agencies to support timely and compliant project delivery.

    What the role will involve

    • Providing guidance and advice on External Approvals processes across capital projects
    • Preparing approvals constraints mapping, tracking registers and External Approvals Plans in collaboration with key stakeholders
    • Supporting Project Managers in preparing approvals documentation and submissions
    • Providing advice during engagement with regulatory agencies to facilitate approvals outcomes
    • Maintaining a strategic view of approvals requirements to support forward planning and agency engagement
    • Driving consistency in approvals approaches across projects
    • Delivering External Approvals training and guidance to planners and project teams
    • Monitoring approvals timelines and supporting accurate project scheduling
    • Maintaining and updating approvals processes and manuals to reflect changing regulatory or business requirements

    Key skills and experience

    You will bring experience working within infrastructure, planning or approvals environments, along with strong stakeholder engagement and coordination capability.

    You will demonstrate:

    • Tertiary qualification in planning, environmental management, engineering or a related discipline
    • Experience managing external approvals for large infrastructure or capital projects
    • Experience providing end-to-end approvals support within large or complex organisations
    • Knowledge of regulatory and licensing agencies relevant to infrastructure delivery
    • Understanding of project management processes and delivery environments
    • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
    • Strong organisational, analytical and planning skills
    • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong Microsoft Office capability (especially Excel)
    • Strong mapping capability using ArcGIS Pro
