What you’ll do:
- Lead the development and implementation of policies, procedures, systems and performance management frameworks for all procurement related activity to ensure a high level of professional practice and deliver compliant, effective and efficient procurement outcomes.
- Develop and implement complex procurement plans and strategies to meet business needs, enhance stakeholder engagement, address and mitigate risks, maximise commercial value delivery and challenge providers through competitive market engagement and dialogue, driving timely delivery of high quality goods and services and reducing cost for WaterNSW.
- Partner with stakeholders to develop innovative supply strategies that include outcomes to support our Reconciliation Action Plan and ESG program, establish supply arrangements, lead high-level negotiations and handover contracts effectively to deliver value for money outcomes
- Provide authoritative advice supported by extensive experience and knowledge of market leading practices to senior key stakeholders on all aspects of procurement to encourage innovative practices, drive commercial approach, achieve optimal delivery of business outcomes and adhere to the procurement framework directions.
What we are looking for:
- Relevant Bachelor degree or experience deemed equivalent. Professional Procurement qualification (e.g. MCIPS) is not mandatory but will be considered favourably
- Applied knowledge of procurement processes, policies, systems and frameworks
- Applied knowledge of corporate processes and structures to drive desired outcomes
- Demonstrated experience in partnering with the business to develop effective procurement strategies, lead commercial negotiations and manage contracts across the lifecycle
- Experience with ERP systems, including source-to-contract and procure-to-pay
- Specific experience of civil construction and/or engineering procurement is highly desirable
