This is an opportunity step into a pivotal senior leadership role shaping the future of WaterNSW’s most critical water infrastructure. You’ll lead a high-performing team of around 80 engineers and specialists, driving innovation in asset management, dam safety, engineering standards and portfolio planning. With oversight of the entire asset lifecycle, you’ll champion safety, reduce risk and maximise long-term value through smart capital investment.

What you’ll do:
- Developing and driving strategic priorities and developing the culture, capability and performance of our people.
- Ensure timely, consistent and quality owner/operator advice/review/input to ensure delivery of projects that regional teams are satisfied to inherit at completion.
- Lead development and execution of asset management frameworks and plans, including asset class, asset management, and capital investment plans.
- Ensure our dam safety risks are managed and activities meet our legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee and support the capital program in the Built Infrastructure portfolio, ensuring funds are used efficiently to meet regulatory, stakeholder, and corporate goals.
What we are looking for:
- Tertiary qualifications in business, commercial or engineering disciplines, and post graduate tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in project management
- Experience in managing a large portfolio of assets within a complex regulatory environment in either heavy industry or the water industry.
- Experience in liaising, consulting, negotiating and resolving conflicts and managing stakeholder and client relationships.
- Experienced communicator with a capacity to prepare complex technical reports, briefing papers and presentations.
- Experience in financial management and in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and project management costings.
- Demonstrated management level experience in leading and managing staff and teams to achieve business outcomes.
- Current NSW driver’s licence.
