What you’ll do:
- Coordinate asset condition assessments, analyse findings, and provide risk-based recommendations (OPEX and CAPEX interventions).
- Coordinate technical investigations to quantify risks, understand root causes, and provide risk-based recommendations.
- Coordinate options assessments through stakeholder engagement and by applying WaterNSW processes and standards. This includes identifying, developing and analysing options with consideration of lifecycle asset risks, performance and costs.
- Coordinate detailed planning of non-technical project constraints, including environmental assessments, cultural assessments, community consultation, outages and strategic alignment.
- Lead the development of concept design, Safety in Design assessments, constructability reviews, project risk assessment, cost estimates and value engineering.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or higher) from a tertiary institution, or an Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with suitable relevant mechanical engineering experience.
- Extensive experience in design, construction or maintenance in heavy industrial engineering or utility environments, and exposure to asset management of equipment relevant to WaterNSW’s asset fleet.
- Knowledge of assets relevant to WaterNSW core asset base such as dams, weirs, water regulating structures, large industrial drive systems, pumps, pipelines, roads, bridges, canals, tunnels, buildings, electrical, control and SCADA.
- Experience in development of technical specifications including interpretation of regulatory and other standards in developing those specifications and knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards, including WHS, as they relate to the design and delivery of engineering aspects of a range of projects.
- Demonstrated experience in determining appropriate solutions to technical challenges through evaluation of options.
- Current NSW driver’s licence
