Senior Revegetation Specialist – Permanent Full Time – Perth CBD

Play a key role in shaping revegetation outcomes that support Western Power’s environmental commitments and the Clean Energy Link (CEL) program.

As a Senior Revegetation Specialist, you’ll lead the development and oversight of revegetation strategies across a portfolio of offset sites. Operating at a program level, you’ll provide technical leadership and governance across planning, delivery and performance, ensuring revegetation programs are consistent, compliant and achieving long-term ecological outcomes.

Working across multiple sites at different stages, you’ll play a critical role in risk management, problem solving and stakeholder engagement—helping ensure programs stay on track and deliver to expectations.

Your Role in Action

  • Lead the development and ongoing optimisation of revegetation programs across a portfolio of sites.
  • Provide technical leadership across revegetation design, methodologies and standards.
  • Oversee contractor delivery, monitoring and performance, ensuring works are completed safely, consistently and in line with agreed quality, compliance and ecological outcome requirements.
  • Lead monitoring, analysis and adaptive management to identify emerging risks, drive timely remediation and improve ecological outcomes.
  • Prepare and review compliance and regulatory reporting, ensuring monitoring results, risks, corrective actions and remediation progress are clearly documented and communicated.
  • Provide technical input into environmental referrals, approvals and stakeholder engagement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal teams, regulators and external stakeholders.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science, ecology, natural resource management, conservation and land management or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering/managing native revegetation/rehabilitation programs, including planning, site preparation, direct seeding/planting and maintenance.
  • Experience implementing and assessing revegetation performance monitoring (e.g., photo points, survival/cover, weed metrics) and applying adaptive management.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including setting contractor expectations, reviewing performance, resolving delivery issues and engaging landholders and internal delivery teams.
  • Knowledge of WA environmental offset guidance and/or regulator expectations for rehabilitation, monitoring, risk management, remediation and offset reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and undertake fieldwork safely, including risk assessment and working in remote/variable conditions as required.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple sites and priorities, work autonomously and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Experience developing scopes of work, supervising contractors, verifying quality/completion of field works and following through on corrective actions where performance or compliance issues are identified.
  • Sound knowledge of local native flora and restoration practices, including seed collection/provenance, nursery stock considerations, weed management and soil/erosion control.
  • Valid WA Driver’s Licence Class ‘C’ (or equivalent).
