We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Injury Management Specialist at Perth Head Office, on a full-time, 12-month fixed term contract.
About this role
As the Injury Management Specialist, you will be responsible for providing effective Injury Management interventions to ensure optimum injury and illness recovery outcomes for Western Power employees. To support Formal Leaders in the implementation of effective and consistent health and injury management standards and processes.
- Management of acute injuries, ensuring there is early intervention so that the employee receives the appropriate treatment to enable an effective return to work
- Review pre-post medical assessments and provide advice on occupational health risks as required.
- Provide timely and accurate weekly and monthly reports.
- Analyse health and injury management data, identify risk trends and improvement opportunities and report on findings to the Team Leader.
- Facilitating end to end employee fitness for work assessment process.
- Assist in the development and implementation of continuous improvements and best practice injury management processes and systems.
- Coordinate manual handling training and workstation ergonomic assessment.
- Assist in the roll out of health promotion initiatives.
- Deliver training and awareness programs to internal and external stakeholders on injury and illness management and workers compensation to ensure consistent understanding, interpretation and application of injury management process across the Western Power.
About you
We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in an allied health discipline (e.g. Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Nursing or Psychology)
- Working knowledge of Injury management procedures, practices and regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in working with the Workers’ Compensation and Injury Management Act.
- Experience in developing and mentoring others in Workers’ Compensation and Injury Management
- Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and influence positive outcomes with key stakeholders
- Strong customer service focus
- Ability to work with minimal supervision to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
