We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Contract Compliance Specialist (CCS) at the Perth Office, on a Permanent Full-Time basis.
About this role
As the Contractor Compliance Specialist, you will be required to:
- Be responsible for ensuring external facilities management, property, and non-network related contractors working on behalf of Western Power, comply fully with Western Power’s Contract Lifecycle Management Framework (CLMF), all contractual compliance obligations and requirements, and that the contractors’ workforce is adhering to its own safety management and quality framework.
- Work closely with internal commercial, property works, facilities management and technology stakeholders to assist and collaborate with reviewing and approval of contractors’ safety management and quality framework, ensuring that they meet Western Power’s minimum expectations.
- Undertake frequent periodic and unannounced desktop and site visit inspections and audits on contractor work sites across Western Power metropolitan and regional locations and complete the necessary system documentation.
- Be responsible for ensuring a high level of assurance and compliance to, and consistent application of the CLMF, and subsequent reporting and counsel of any contractor activity contrary to the framework.
- Work collaboratively to review any technical, compliance and/or assurance details of contractual scopes and programmes, as well as assisting with the transition of new or incumbent contractors to programmes of works.
- Ensuring appropriate Supplier documentation is submitted and assessed against Western Power Safety, Health, and Environment Requirements for Contractors.
- Ensuring a consistent approach to contract delivery including the use of systems, tools, and templates.
- Exercise independence in giving subject matter expert advice to internal and external stakeholders.
- To carry out duties as Superintendent’s Representative in accordance with AS4000, AS4902 and AS4906 contracts when and if required.
- Development and implementation of innovative work health and safety initiatives that drive a co-creative, inclusive, and organic safety culture partnership with all stakeholders.
About you
We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:
- At least 5 to 6+ years solid experience in power and/or heavy industry planning, construction, operation, commissioning, or maintenance.
- Must have a obtained a relevant trade or engineering, contract management or HSE qualification.
- Best practice knowledge and industry experience in the areas of contract management and execution.
- Strong experience and knowledge in psychological health management relevant to management of Contractors under WHS legislation.
- Best practice experience and knowledge is essential for safety management, occupational health, workplace assessing, incident and hazard investigation and emergency response.
- Proven experience is necessary in managing conflict resolution and managing public and stakeholder relations.
- Interaction with others is primarily concerned with influencing, developing, and motivating people and changing behavior.
- Competence in relevant IT systems is necessary.
- Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
- Must be in possession of a minimum ‘C’ class driver’s license.
