We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Team Leader – Distribution Network Design at our Perth CBD Office, on a permanent basis.
About this role
As the Engineering Team Leader – Distribution Network Design you will be required to:
Lead a team of engineering professionals and be accountable for provision of engineering services for delivery of Distribution network designs, ensuring all designs are safe, reliable and affordable. Deliver designs for capacity expansion, asset replacement, reliability improvement and standalone power system programs, as well as providing relevant standards, specifications and documentation to enhance design performance and meet network plan and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the planning, scoping, scheduling, and coordination of team activities related to the design and engineering of distribution network systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the team members.
- Manage and develop quality feedback systems.
- Implement an integrated program to develop standard designs, templates, guidelines and specifications leading to safe, reliable and affordable designs.
- Contribute to and support risk management.
- Contribute to and support the optimisation of capital expenditure through efficient and effective engineering design.
- Contribute to and support the development and maintenance of design standards and planning criteria.
- Manage talent through effective execution of employee performance outcomes through established system and processes and the ongoing development of employees.
About you
We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:
- Degree in Engineering, eligible for corporate membership of the institution of Engineers Australia
- In depth knowledge of distribution network design, project management, policies and procedures.
- In depth knowledge of asset management principles, specifications, standards, and material selection for distribution network systems.
- Skills and capability in front line management, work management, design coordination and ability to schedule tasks and resources to meet project requirements.
- Knowledge of field activities including construction, commissioning, estimating, operations and maintenance of the network.
- An understanding of risk management and its application within the business
- Strong leadership, influencing, communication and interpersonal skills
- Extensive experience in an electricity utility business associated with the design and construction of Distribution Network Infrastructure.
- Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’
